Recognised Professions or Trades

      Any Profession or Trade which carries a Degree, Trade Apprenticeship, Diploma, or similar Certificate of Competence

      A Trade Certificate with full apprenticeship is accepted as being equivalent to or higher than a Diploma

      To be considered ‘skilled’ a person should have actually worked for a ‘reasonable period’ of time in their declared Profession or Trade

      Professional or Trade skills must be ‘recognized’ by the Australian Federal Government to be considered acceptable for any employment

      A ‘Full Listing of all Skilled Occupations’ recognised by the Federal Government is published and updated regularly by DIAC in what is called the SOL List

Recognised Qualifications

      Any Professional Degree, Trade Apprenticeship, Diploma, or similar Certificate of Competence that is recognised by the Australian Authorities and posted on the DIAC Website

      You must be able to verify the authenticity of any such Recognition & Documents

      Your own Professional Association, Trade Union, or similar should also be able to confirm your ‘authenticity’ when contacted for confirmation

      If you are applying for a Visa - it is your responsibility to contact the appropriate Recognition Authorities, both in your Country and in Australia, to satisfy DIAC
